The next Young Eagle Rally is scheduled for October 7, 2017. We
plan to open reservations for this event in July 2017

Our Spring Young Eagle Rally was held on April 15th and
was a very suscessful event. Over 35 Young Eagles
were flown. Pictures of Young Eagles and pilots
are now available on this website.

Welcome to our
EAA Chapter 1279
Steve Williamson, President
are in the process of moving our main website to a new
address. The new website is now working and will
become our only website later this Summer. We
expect to maintain both websites for several months
during this transition.

All Chapter meeting will
now be held in Steve and
Peter's Pietenpol hangar just inside the northwest
(Note: See drawing below for exact location -
honk if gate is closed and someone will come and
help open it.)
1. October 2016 - Granger Haugh is in the
process of restoring his Royal Navy
Traveller NC582 (FT478) and has sent some
recent pictures. Check the project out by
clicking on the "Member Projects" tab above.

Alex has finished his Van's
RV-12 - complete with a beautifull new paint

Friends of Fallbrook Air Park (FFCAP) members

join them in their 2016-2107 events, so I have added

There was a very good EAA Webinar held on
February 25, 2015 and presented by our chapter
President, Steve Williamson. The webinar
features the construction of the Pietenpol Air
Camper built by our chapter over the last 10 +
years. The webinar is video about an hour and a
half long. It is certainly worth viewing
the entire presentation along with the
question and answer session that followed by

About EAA Chapter 1279
When Rod Dunfield retired to Southern California in
1998, the first thing he did was visit the local airport
at French Valley. A lifelong pilot and a Kitfox
builder himself, he loved the environment out at French
Valley. He discovered and befriended dozens of
other builders and pilots. With so many builders
at French Valley, he was amazed that they had never
organized into an EAA chapter. There was plenty of
enthusiasm for the EAA. They all wished there was
a chapter nearby that they could join. So Rod
